Unique walking tour of Rome with my dog
This activity holds a special place in my heart as it was my first solo tour, which all began with adopting Kira.
To give you some background, Kira is a red-nosed Pitbull born in Southern Italy. She was initially purchased by a family with children, but she was about four months old, they found her too difficult to manage and reached out to a volunteer to find her a new home. During this, they had moved and left her alone in the old house. Though she was cared for daily, she felt abandoned and heartbroken. When I came across her adoption ad on Facebook, I knew immediately she had to be mine! After completing the necessary interviews and checks, the volunteers agreed we were perfect match, and I brought her home the very next day, where she has been treated like royalty ever since! I soon discovered that Kira adores children, and all the neighborhood kids reciprocate affection. Her sociable nature inspired to connect with tourists who love the breed, their own pets, or simply enjoy cuddling with a dog while exploring Rome. Thus, Kira's tours were born in 2019. When the pandemic hit, we had to pause the tours. In 2021, I welcomed my son Valentino, and Kira was overjoyed! The moment she first met Valentino, her eyes filled with tears—an unforgettable memory. They have been inseparable ever since. However, balancing motherhood and a full-time job left little time for our walking tours... until now! I decided to leave my job and return to what I love most, especially knowing how happy it would make Kira. This tour allows you to explore Rome's iconic sites and squares, learn about customs and culture, ask questions, and navigate the city effortlessly—all while playing and strolling with a joyful pibble. Isn't that the perfect combination?
The usual route takes us on a stroll from the Spanish Steps, to the Trevi fountain, Pantheon, Piazza Navona, St. Angel's Castle and St. Peter's Square but we are happy to modify the itinerary if needed.
We'll talk about the history behind these amazing venues and I'll share all my tips and suggestions on how to get the most out of your stay in Rome.
